Note: If you are allergic to bee stings, seek medical treatment at once! Disclaimer
Once you have removed the stinger and applied ice to slow down the spread of the venom, you should put something on the sting to reduce the swelling and pain:
- Probably the most commonly recommended poultice for bee stings is meat tenderizer. Don't leave it on for more than half an hour, or it may irritate your skin.
- Another commonly recommended remedy is a paste of baking soda and water.
- If you don't have any meat tenderizer or baking soda around, raw grated potatoes do a good job, too.
